Coaching Retreat - Keynote Speakers Announced
Everything is looking great for our upcoming coaching conference, due to be held in October this year in Queenstown. The keynote speakers have been announced as Getrude Matshe, and Sue Lindsay.
The inspirational Getrude Matshe will be this year's opening keynote speaker at the coaching retreat. You won't want to miss hearing this woman speak! Described as a vibrant bundle of African Energy, a human dynamo whose drive, zest, and passion for life inspires everyone she meets, Getrude has an amazing story to tell.
From being born in a village with no electricity and running water, to making $6 million dollars in 8 months, Getrude has an extraordinary ability to manifest her dreams into reality. A living example of "what you believe, you can achieve", Getrude arrives at her successes through a combination of visioning, living the law of Attraction, and goal setting. It is these principles, also taught in “The Secret” that she will share during her keynote address.
The second keynote speaker, Sue Lindsay shows us how to lead an inspired life and how that impacts the way we lead our organisations, large and small. This is based on a lifetime of experience and a passion for discovering and sharing what makes great people and great organizations tick. Sue takes us on a compelling journey, sharing her wealth of real time management and leadership experience and the work resulting from her collaboration with Dr Lance Secretan - one of Northern America’s foremost business philosophers and speakers and former worldwide CEO of Man Power the recruitment company. Dr Secretan chose Sue along with a small group of inspired business leaders around the world to co-create both his latest book ONE The Art and Practice of Conscious Leadership.
Sue offers solutions, both from her extensive research and training and her wealth of corporate experience and now as an entrepreneur who faces the challenges of leading diverse businesses on a daily basis. Her time with you will change the way you think about your life and business. She will inspire you to take action and have people talking about you and your brand for all the right reasons.

Conference Charity Selected
We are pleased to announce that the Charity that we will be supporting this Conference is the Kea Education and Community Coaching Trust. Its objectives are to promote the benefits of coaching and coach-like behaviour in schools, and to foster coach-like behaviour in school management and teachers. The charity also supports not for profit organisations. Coachmecca has decided on this charity because we want to fully support a charity directly related to coaching, our coaches and the beneficiaries of coaching.
Also, in our support of Coach Trust, we have stipulated certain charities for coaching as put forward by our participants, including RNZFB, Tear Fund and Cure Kids. |

'Greening' your business
'Green business' is not only good for the environment, but it is also good for your businesses bottom line, as it encourages you to cut down on waste and conserve resources. Environmentally friendly actions do not have to be large to make an impact.
Here are 9 easy to implement tips to make your business more environmentally sustainable
1) Turn off equipment when it is not being used. This can reduce the energy used by your business by 25 percent, turning off the computers at the end of the day can save even more energy.
2) Encourage communications by email, and read email messages on-screen to determine whether it is necessary to print them. If its not, dont! You can also add a request to your outgoing email documents to not print the email if not strictly necessary.
3) Produce double sided documents, whenever possible.
4) Do not leave taps dripping; always close them tightly after use. (One drop wasted per second wastes 10,000 litres per year.)
5) Recycle your used paper and other goods; have a bin or bins in the office especially for recycling.
6) Find a supply of paper with maximum available recycled content. 100% recycled white A4 paper is available through Canon, Fuji Xerox supplies paper with 50% recycled material, and 50% pulp from sustainably managed forests in New Zealand.
7) Do not just throw away any unwanted electronic equipment. They often contain hazardous materials. Either safely dispose of the item (mobile phone and electronics stores often accept unwanted items for safe recycling or disposal) or donate it. There are charity organisations that recycle old monitors, keyboards etc for community use.
8) Instigate an ongoing search for 'greener' products and services in the local community. The further your suppliers or service providers have to travel, the more energy will be used to get them to you.
9) Before deciding whether you need to purchase new office furniture, see if your existing office furniture can be refurbished. It is less expensive than buying new, and better for the environment.
Tell us your tips for a greener office! Go to the forum, on the Coachmecca website, and add your tips to help all of us make the world a greener place.
